                   After reading chapters 1-5

Valuable Choices
Another important idea in The Giver is that of choices.  
For example, getting to decide what you want to do and when you want to do it, “freedom of speech” and “freedom of religion”. Click here to view our country's Bill of Rights and see the choices that we have. Once you view the Bill of Right's, complete the activity below.


· Make a short list (4-5 ideas) of what choices are important to you.
· Write a paragraph describing how you would feel if these choices were taken away.

Below are two videos that might help you further understand the Bill of Rights. A better understanding of our rights will help you decide what "choices" you think your society should have.
